Good day listeners, Welcome to OUR CULTURE on Asemp 92.8 FM, where we x-ray the  culture of different people in Nigeria. Today on OUR CULTURE, we will be talking about UCHI FESTIVAL in Auchi community of Etsako West Local Government in Edo State. To do justice, am Beckisu Salawe you regular presenter, before we start lets enjoy this.

Welcome back to OUR CULTURE on Asemp 92.8 FM. Like I said before we will be discovering how the UCHI DAY FESTIVAL  in Auchi community is being celebrated. UCHI DAY is a very interesting Festival, Uchi means the priestess of a river in Auchi, before the UCHI DAY is celebrated, The King of Auchi announces it in different Mosque to keep the people aware of the Festival. It is usually celebrated every 7th of January, On that day every member of the community gather themselves in the King's Palace, Cultural dancers from different communities are invited to entertain the people.
That day is specially for the Uchi Priestess, The King and the people worship her and then makes some sacrifices like the killing of Ram. After then the Kings says the closing prayer and every one returns to his or her destination.
